Yep it would help but I doubt by much. Pull that small 4 bolted located between the liftall and the transmission case. You will see a sleeve on each end of the shaft. A long 1/4 inch cotter pin goes through each sleeve. Pull those pins and move the sleeves in towards the middle of the shaft. You will see that the shaft is dog eared into a dog on each end. It will slide right out.
