It's very unlikely that you will have to put
shims in. Crank gets worn and the clearances get
sloppy,you take shims out that were there since
tractor was new.Take the two access covers off the
side of the block,you can do all work thru
these.Take all spark plugs out,makes it easier to
turn over and safer. Take one shim out and
reinstall cap,turn motor over.Do this process till
you feel resistance then put one shim back in.
Torque is tight,spec unknown.If you were going to
work her hard all season you would check these
each spring.
