756 inj pump timing

We are in the process of overhauling a 756 Diesel with a D-310 engine in the Ag Shop at college. The injection pump model BR was sent out to a Injection Pump Shop for rebuilding and we were told "that model is obsolete" and can no longer get a head and rotor for it. The injection pump shop supplied a new version that is a model VE Robert Bosch injection pump. This new pump is different in that it does not use a timing access hole on the side like the old model did. Has anyone installed this newer pump? I could use some pointers. Thanks much
