If you post the serial # from the ID plate on your tractor someone will give you the year of mfg. Cubs were all Cubs...Cub Cadets did come in different models. The starter is most likely the original as it does not have to changed when doing a 12V conversion. It is not advised to keep the starter energized for long periods of time as the additional voltage will burn out the starter. Just keep the tractor in tune and it should start very easy all the time.//FB
