H's came with the Monroe shock absorber seat soon after WW2-'46-47 era. The first ones had an extended seat bracket and the shock was mounted to the rear of the seat and was longer than the one mounted forward of the seat on the later versions. It was a popular conversion for a lot of different tractors to get the Monroe seats and don't kid yourselves-they were a real improvement over the older non-shock type seats that came on the tractors before then. Many times this skinny kid got pitched into the steering wheel on the seat rebound after hopping a furrow or like bump on H's with that d----d old no shock seat.
