Had low oil pressure on my smta, pulled the oil pump hoping I could just take a gasket out and be done with it, WRONG. Drive shaft is worn on pump end quite badly, husing does not appear to bw work much, also the relief valve has a rough spot on the upper end, likd a peice of metal got in there or something. Is this caused by the former owner running low on oil, or just not changing it often enough? Tractor has obviously been "rode hard and put up wet". Now the question is where would I find a good used/rebuilt oil pump and what should I expect to pay? Perhaps I may be able to get by with the drive shaft only. Does the shaft usually wear that much without wearing the housing? looks like the housing would wear faster.
