Take the switch off the starter and examine it. You should be able to see what is wrong. Maybe you need a new switch(readily available at IH dealer) or the button on the starte that the switch contacts with is worn down. If the button is worn, a starter/gen shop can replace it for you. Also, maybe someone turned the switch around backwards because the button is worn.
