Not only that, but he'll learn what oil is for and the machine never gets started without checking the oil. There is a ton of life's lessons to be learned by handing over some of that responsiblity to young person. I started out mowing on my Grandpa's Cub when I was eight, moved up to Dad's 9N, was raking hay at eleven on Dad's H, and was doing all the discing and harrowing on Dad's (my) JD60 at 13. Priceless experience. Your son is indeed lucky to have you as a father.
