Hi there F14. Hope you don't mind if I add a little. On my F12, the site hole is at 4 o'clock as viewed from the front of the tractor, not the driver's seat. Also on my F12, the nail in the pawl of the mag is not necessary to disengage. That trip mechanism defeat is not there (but the manual describes it). I timed mine by the same mechanism you described, but ignored the trip defeat part. I don't know diddly about the difference between F12 and O12, if any, but offer this as fyi only.
