I would not paint the magneto cap, distributor cap, or plug wires. The paint is not intended as a high voltage insulator. Any cracks or scratches in the paint would hold dirt and moisture which will provide a path to ground for the high voltage the magneto develops. That has the potential for problems down the road. Just clean the magneto and distributor cap with a cleaner that leaves no residue, such as brakleen, then wipe it dry with a clean, dry cloth.
