Why did you have to take a tire off??? Surely not to get the final drive pan off. Anyway, not sure how much the final drives hold, but what you do is be sure to put a new gasket and then reinstall the pans. Then fill up to the bottom of the fill hole that is on the inside of the final drive housings. It's located about the same level as the drawbar bolt holes and has a square recess to insert a tool to turn it. Some folks say to avoid leakage problems around the gasket (since the level is above the gasket of the pan) to fill only to just below the gasket level. If you use a new gasket and put some silicone gasket sealer on it, you should not have a problem.
