The 300 should not need the over-running clutch with the cutter. The reason for the over-running clutch is that with a transmission driven PTO, the inertia of the cutter would propel the tractor after the clutch is disengaged unless the trnasmission is pulled out of gear. Your 300 will stop since the PTO and the transmission really aren't connected. Your Live PTO unit does have a brake on it that you should be careful of, slam the PTO OFF quickly and You'll throw a good shock back into the cutter.
