I know a lot of guys say to use straight 30w oil, but I still like using 15w-40. I think it's better for these old motors. I use Case/IH #1 oil. If you use the straight weights, you'll find yourself changing oil again in the fall, even if you only have 10 hours on the oil Also use the Fleetguard oil filters. Some say there is no difference, but I went to a oil, and filter seminar. They cross sectioned different brands of filters, and their is definitley a big difference....Dave
