If it's cracked on the left side by the carburator, join the club. I repaired mine with JB weld (ground out the crack first--drilled a hole at each end, too) and have had good success with that. The JB ran in the hot weather, but I was told later to apply it, then cover it with masking tape to keep it from running while it hardens up.
