If you want to keep your H stock appearing and usable for more than just pulling then find you a Super H, 300 or 350 Block or the hole engine. The 300/350 motors had a lot better air/flow head and a little longer duration cam. You can either find you a propane head or have a 300/350 head reworked to the same spec as a stock propane head. You can use high altitude pistons to raise your compression. IH offered either 3000 or 5000 ft elevation pistons. I put the 5000 pistons in a Super M, It made a lot of power but I had to use preimum fuel or it would ping like the dickens. You can get about 45 hp out of a 175cu 350 motor. I pull a 300 Farmall and a 300 Utility that make 45 Hp and they do very well.
