I have a 52 Cub that did this. I found out that my bearings were shot. I would say you might have this problem. Also, there is a spring and plug that is supposed to regulat the oil pressure, you may want to pull it out and see if it is cracked or something, but I would doubt it. I would bet that it is your bearings. As soon as the motor warms up the tolerances increase and the oil has not resistance. Mine would drop to idle and the thickness of the oil made no difference. My dad refused to let me tear it apart until after mowing season and therefore we had a really expensive rebuild ahead of us.(ground crank, bored block, new pistons etc.) be careful. and find the problem, it wil not just go away. I would also pull the pan and do a visual check.
