Ira,

Drain the rear tranny of as much oil as you can, even lifting the front off the ground to get more out. Then dump 5 gallons of diesel fuel in there and drive around for a little while. The diesel fuel will dissolve the old gummy deposits and they will drain out with the fuel. Drain out the diesel fuel and add your new oil. An old Farmer with coveralls and a wrench in his pants said it works great!!!
