Get a hydraulic pressure gage and tee it into the pressure line to the cylinders to see what pressure you are getting. You can get a gage from Northern Tool for less than $15. You should be getting around 800 psi. That should be enought to lift something pretty heavy with the Saginaw hitch. Check to make sure you have enough oil in the lift all. If you have not put fresh oil in it since you have had the tractor, I suggest draining it and refilling with non detergent 30 wt oil. Be sure you fill it with the cylinders retracted so you do not overfill.
