father in law has an "a" he had the mag cheked it needed points and condeser, cap, and mag cap. we put new plug wires on plugs looked good went to get a carb kit and found a whole carter carb [cheep, new take off] put that on went to start it up and started on about the third crank of the starter then went to full throttle. shut in down. tried again with father in law by carb it started and went to full throttle he played with the carb and got it to idle down. the problem is the linkage from governer to carb is not working. i looked at mine and when you move the throttle it moves the linkage all the way to the carb his dosn't. the govener was worked on a new bearring and nylon spacer or washer was put in. and put back on. any ideas . this board is full of good info. thanks tiny
