Kirchoff is "the law" here indeed! Series connected battery's VOLTAGEs are additive, but their currents (i.e. CCA) are not. This is because when connected in series the same current passes thru both batteries in sequence. Energy storage (watt-hours) for series-connected batteries is the same deal. It equals total series battery voltages times the current rating of any ONE battery in the series. Consequently a 12 volt 900 CCA battery will have the identical energy storage capacity as (2) 6 volt 900 CCA batteries connected in series. And both battery arrangements will perform identically in service.

Hydraulics - Cylinder Anatomy - by Curtis von Fange. Let’s make one more addition to our series on hydraulics. I’ve noticed a few questions in the comment section that could pertain to hydraulic cylinders so I thought we could take a short look at this real workhorse of the circuit. Cylinders are the reason for the hydraulic circuit. They take the fluid power delivered from the pump and magically change it into mechanical power. There are many types of cylinders that one might run across on a farm scenario. Each one could take a chapter in
