I have a 1948 Farmall C that sit for quiet a few years. The old gas that was in the tank has turned into varnish. I have tried using my safe-t-clean parts washer fluid and also paint thinner along with about 20 3/4" nuts in the tank. I have removed about a quart of sludge so far but still have a lot left. I was told to use muratic acid to clean the gas tank. Little leary of using acid, I don't want to mess up anything, or ruin the tank. The local radiator shop claims that they can clean it for about a $125.00, but this seems to be a little bit too much at this time. The metal on the outside of this tank is in very good condition therefore I do wish to reuse it. Does anybody have any ideas that may clean the inside of a gas tank? Also would it be wise to use KREEM in it after cleaning? I have heard both good and bad about this product. All ideas would be of great help. Thanks
