I'm still having some trouble conceptualizing this adjustment myself. The instruction in the manuals (to lengthen the rod to increase the free movement) seems counter-intuitive. The Red replied to me that he might have gotten it backwards in a previous post, and to go whichever way gave the desired result (which is, of course, what we will all do in the end) but fact is what he said agreed with the manual. That leaves me still wondering, not so much which way to turn the rod, but whether I understand what I'm trying to do. In the present case, the 3/16 clearance on the release bearing is supposed to be right, and it seems to me (there I go again) that to increase the free movement (the distance the clutch pedal moves before the bearing makes contact with the fingers) and to insure complete release ( the distance the clutch pedal travels after the bearing makes contact with the fingers) would require changing the length of the rod in two different directions. Yours in mild perplexity, William
