Squeezing Blood out of a Turnip!

My cub is the perfect size. Just wish it had more power. Do you have any ideas? Someone recommended changing the jet out of the carb to help - (154 carb jet/185 jet). Would this help, or would it be wasting money. I would adjust the govenor, but hate to mess it up.
