Patrick, The price would be OK in my area (S.E. PA.). As for converting to electric start, you need to have a bell housing/torque tube that has provisions for a starter and a fly wheel with teeth for the starter drive. Electric start was an option, but, after some point they all had provision for it to be added later. I don't remember if that applies to your tractor or not. They started serial numbers at 501, so yours is pretty early.
