hi Ed , if these are band brakes the hardest part is getting the holding pin to slide out of the end of the band. what worked for me was a small ball bearing placed carefully under the pin and a few good whacks on the band brake, it gets that darn rusted pin moving a little but i still needed to use some heat and penatrating oil. hope this helps. speed bump
