Hey Paul - One more thing I forgot to mention: When I got the pivot shaft out I found it's upper bearing surface was worn such it's OD was about 0.015" less than the ID of the new bushing - ie. the pivot shaft running in the new bushing would have had some slop - though still much less than the old bushing. So what I did was open the slot in the new bushing by about 40 thousandths. Then when I pushed it into the bolster I stuck a piece of 0.015" brass shim whose width was 1/2 the circumference of the bushing between the bushing and it's bore in the bolster. This compensated perfectly for the wear to the pivot shaft bearing surface - fit was snug but still free.

Regarding wear on the sector gear teeth, seems to me the smaller Farmalls (Cub, A, C?) use a whole worm wheel - not just a sector gear. So when the worm gear gets worn on one side you simply remove it, rotate it 180 degrees and put it back in. Effectively it becomes a new gear. Would have been nice if the H's and M's were built this way!
