Ludwig, I'm sure ther will be interest in this project you have. I see we can by electric fence units that are solar powered and recharge the battery for under $100 so your project should be of interest. If I am leaving a battery for a long time I disconnect it and pull it out. I store it on a wooden bench after I have charged it. I do this with the riding mower battery and the tractor batteries during the winter months I am not using them. I ve never had one that wouldn't go in the spring,unless of course it was a dud from the previous fall. Keep us posted and good luck.
