If the price of 40in tires bothers you a little, there are a couple of alternatives.

I found a set of 38in rims made from cut off 40in welded onto a modern rim. Works great with local tractor tires.

Others have used Farmall H or C rims with modern tires (38in and 36in). The rims don't technically fit, as the axle size is 1/8in too small, but persuasion has resulted in success.

The tractor sits a little low in the rear, but only 1 inch for 38 and isn't noticable. With 36, it would sit 2 inches low and might be getting easy to see.

I got my rims with an ad on YT's classifieds.
