a water pump is not needed when you replace the sleeves you get a the crud out of the block that is stopping the natural system from doing its job the holes in the block at the bottom of the sleeve area will be cleaned and water can flow like it is supposed to lets face we have bad water in some areas and a engin 50 yrs old is built up with a lot of crud
