Stan, start with the front wheel bearings and don' stop until you get to the steering wheel. Eliminate all play in tie rod ends, etc. Observe the action of the steering arm while moving the steeing wheel shaft back and forth, determine if the play is internal or external to the steering box. We'll go from there
