I don't know that much about Cub's, but it sounds like your crank case breather is stopped up. The crank case must have a vent to release the gases that get past the pistons. I don't know where that is on the Cub. On the Super A, it is on the oil fill opening that is located on the valve cover. Since the cub has a flathead engine, there is no valve cover. It may be on the fill opening or there may be a separate vent.
