Robert - There's several things you can do - in ascending order of cost: 1 - Install the smallest pulley on the alternator you can find so it spins faster. You're friendly auto junk yard can help you here. 2 - Exchange your 1-wire alternator for a "standard" 3-wire unit. These turn on and charge at a lower RPM than 1-wire units. 3 - There's an outfit that sells low cut-in 1-wire alternators that are alleged to turn on a lower RPMs similar to 3-wire units. I've had no personal experience with them however and don't know whether or not they work as advertised. Punch below for a look....
