This is interesting. We had a conversation on here awhile back and concluded that SA's didn't get the C123 block until the SA-1 came out in '54. But the 354898 is the C123 block and the serial number is close enough to seem reasonable as original (the M on the block serial number I believe is for Motor). Sometime mid '51 is when the block was introduced for the SC's, and you have a late '51 serial number. I would like to get Jim B's input on this if he's following the thread.
