$1,400 for that tractor providing it runs fine, and no serious leaks is not an unreasonable price in any pert of the country. I am usually loathe to comment on questions regarding a tractor's worth as it is so subjective, but in this case, you have already established a price you feel is fair and I see it as just that. My suggestion, however is to not try to upr=grade its value by painting it, as to someone who might want to restore it, it is worse to try to fix a bad paint job than to start on one that has surface rust. The Grill tin looks fine from the pic so I would guess that the rest of the tin is not mangled. I say hold fast to your price unless someone wants to come negotiate within a couple hundred of what you are asking.
