Fabricating Steel Wheel Lugs for a 15-30

I would like to replace the lugs on a 15-30 I'm restoring but the origional lugs appear to be forged due to the thickened web accross the inside of the peak.

Does anyone think that using a large break to bend 3.5" x 3/8" bar stock to shape will work? I'm a little worried that these lugs may wear out or deform quickly.

Has anyone tried this before?

Would arc welding a bead across the tip and inside the peak help any?
