Make sure you have spark. Check distributor, coil, wires, plugs. Was the engine running ok and then all of a sudden this happened? Did you do anything prior to this happening? If you think carb is flooding, shut off gas to it and try cranking while squirting a little bit of gas into the carb. I've had a problem with sticking float/ needle seat. NAPA has carb rebuild kit.
