My neighbor has a 79' model with less than 900 hours on it. The 284 was made in Mooka, Japan from 76'-81'. His is a gas and he has the Sims rops/canopy. It's a pretty good little tractor(even though I don't like foreign). It doesn't give him many problems except it has always been hard to start and you have to always run it at half choke so it won't die. It also sometimes refuses to go in 4 th in High range. I rake hay with it now and then. He might sell it and is going to ask $4,900. That's a very good price. I seen them advertized for $4,500-$6,000 mostly. My local Case-IH dealer just got one in, and they are asking $3,500, but it set outside a good deal and it needs paint, no canopy/rops. I saw an ad for what is sounds like you are describing for $7,500 2 weeks ago. I think it was a diesel and it had the 59" deck, turf tires, canopy, excellent condition. Oh they did come with as cat. 1 3-point hitch. He has had it for 13 years and overall it has been a good tractor to him. Good Luck.

Experimentation, from the most complex assembly to the most simple and mundane component, is as an integral a part of any farm tractor's development
