Chris, look on the inside of the lefthand seat support. If the tag is missing there is also a engine serial number (That most likely will not match the tractor serial #) located on a flat boss just under #1 spark plug. You may have to scrape off dirt/oil and layers of paint to read it but it's there. Also look at the major castings for something like 3@15@R The (@) will look like a screw head and the letter at the end will indicate a year R='48, S='49, etc.//FB
