Guy, the part in question is the arm that holds the bar, which is the forward attachment of the plows. The plows are blue as shown in your book, p 39. However, when removing the dirt from the attaching assy. I found a color I thought was faded blue. The International Harvester Paint Comittee Decision #77 indicate that "It is decided that the Power-Lift Attachment for Farmall Tractors will be painted Tractor Gray." Also Decision # 83 indicted that "the braces and trunnion castings will be painted gray..." I believe that the color I have uncovered is gray rather then blue. I am not attempting to do a perfect restoration; rather I think all red is too much. I am looking for things like the plows and maybe the lift, etc. to be another color if IH produced them that way. When I worked on tobacco as a teenager I remember a C with blue and cream colors on the lift and cultivators. I have very much enjoyed your book and I am pleased you took interest in my post.
