Well, I did the big tranny oil change this weekend. I pulled the plug on the old 1942 H. Water came out for 1 minute. Then some of the weirdest looking stuff you have ever seen. It smelled like 40 year old urine. Whew!!!!!!!!! I pulled the rear PTO, and was happy to see it had a splined end where it fits to the inner shaft. I did find it cool to be able to look up inside the tranny with a flashlight and see all of the fun stuff in there. Bull gears look wild and anxious. I jacked the front end of the tractor up about two feet and let it drain for hours. I brought a paint scraper up there later and reached right in the tranny throught the PTO hole and scraped as much of the gunk out as I could. Then a took a rag and wiped it clean in there. I pulled my belt pully and drained the front part of the tranny for a few hours. I dumped a gallon of fresh 80-90 in there and resealed the hole with a flat delete plate. I removed both of my PTO's so I can do maintenance on them. They both need new seals and felt, I am sure. I put a large funnel in the tranny filler hole, and between rain showers, dumped five gallons into the tranny. Looks naked without the PTO's. Looks streamlined and lean. Now I need to do a restore of my upper bolster. It wobbles violently at road speed. Any helpful hints would be appreciated. Any dealers out there who have Upper Bolster renew kits for sale, please e-mail me. Thanks, Scott S.
