Copper is a very bad idea. The pressure put on it from the hydrualic system will cause the walls of the tubing to acually push out to a larger diameter. When that happens the copper will "work harden" and eventually split. I just hope it doesn't do it if someone is near the load when it goes! It is a short cut to a hospital visit waiting to happen.Use steel hydraulic lines and attach them so they won't flex. Use rubber lines where a joint is that has to move. Long rubber lines are also a bad idea. If you need to see how it should be done go look at a bulldozer or other heavy equipment and see how they "strung the lines". you won't see long rubber lines or copper.
