OK, my novice/dumb question for the week. This past weekend I broke the driveline from my model 'C' to the brush hog. The u-joint on the PTO end went up the shaft (after the pin broke) creating a short overlap and the driveline fractured in the middle. I need some advice on replacing it. It appears that the tractor PTO shaft is 1 1/8" in dia, but that is inside the splines. Where do you measure, inside or outside the splines? The distance (connected) is about 6 feet from the PTO shaft to the gear box. How long should the new shaft be? When you specify the length is it the colapsed length or the extended length? What is a good source for the driveline. Thanks again.
