Cam rotated nice and free. However, I did clean with penetrating oil a while back. You are right in that holes are worn some. I have ordered new springs. I am considering measuring dia. of pin, and brazing up holes then redrilling to correct size, greasing, and reassembling. I know the brass will not last as long, but I will definitely get my moneys worth out of it (free) vs. $65 for new weights. Tractor is not in heavy use anyway. Nice tight springs might do the trick alone. It almost seems that when I cleaned it all out it freed up everything allowing timing to "float" more due to wear. I think cam was initially stuck allowing no timing movement.
