Check the clutch.A friend of mine was given a 1 ton Chevy truck that the motor was "locked up" in it.The rest of the truck was junk, but the motor was a 454c.i. big block so he decided to pull it out and scrap the rest. After he dropped the tranny,he noticed the clutch fingers were bent into the holes in the flywheel and hitting a casting line on the back of the block, thus, not allowing the motor to turn over.Took the clutch off,and the engine fired right up!!Don't know if this helps or not, hope so.
