dave i all-ways put new ones in,because i dont no who was in there last and used a im-pac gun and stretched the studs, tap the block good and coat the thred,s with some kind of water seal were they go in the block--do-not over tighten the studs,i think i toqreke the studs to 20 pounds ?. later wen you put the head on dont forget the heavy washers that go over the pipes in the head.s.i usally re-tourqe the head 2 times after it is warm,also i torque it up in 30 pound increments,it,s easy to do these things than have to go back in and do them agin.
