My $5,000 Farmall A. Well $5,000 maybe a too much, but when you figure the time I have spent working on it $5,000 seems about right. I have been following this discussion board for a while getting tips and just enjoying the posts. Now it is my time to update you all on my project. I’ve had this tractor for 15 years. Traded my aunt a Honda rototiller for it. I have used it to plow my gardens, plow snow, mow, and haul firewood. This fall the old girl started to develop oil leaks. I even lost use of the left brake due to oil. So I decided to do a little fix up. I found the ytmag site and got interested getting the A in shape. With seven oil seals, two brakes later and now 100+ hours in work getting ready to paint, I am ready to document what I have accomplished. I will put all the details on my web site soon, but there are some things I done to the tractor that many may find interesting. It is a 1941 A, so no 3 point or hydraulics. I’ve added both and will share my designs. I’ve posted some pictures of my progress to date, enjoy. I don’t have many pictures of the tractor up to now, I didn’t think it was picture worthy. After paint and decals I think she will be more camera-friendly. I will update my progress from time to time. I will, in all probability, need some questions answered. Dave Ulm
