Hydraulics

Hey! Got Super H last week and went a mowing this weekend. Things went real well until I had been running for about 45 minutes. The hydraulics for the three point quit, couldn't lift the mower. It was in an ok position so I just kept mowing until I was done but near the end, the deck dropped to lowest position. I have a filler pipe which previous owner told me to fill until it came up to the cap..? I suppose I am just low on fluid but I haven't noticed any big leaks. My first question is, I don't know what kind of oil or hydraulic fluid may be in the system now and so, if it say has hydraulic fluid in it now and I go and throw some non deter. 30 weight in there and mix it up, will it matter?
