Don't change the O-RING. Once You get the o-ring in and seated in the groove when You change the filter just tighten the thru-bolt slightly, run the tractor till it warms up and if it leaks just tighten it up till it stops leaking. Turn the filter cover before it gets snug to make sure it finds the old groove it made in the gasket. From snug to leak-free shouldn't be over 1/2 a turn of the clamp bolt more. That's the way Dad & I have done it for the last 50+ yrs.
