We are done with summer work and want to fix the tractor PTO. It slips when cutting heavy hay or even when engaging the baler. It had been fixed before by two "local" shops. about 10yrs ago new discs were put in,but it slipped a few years later. the second guy supposedly rebuilt the hydraulic pump. i'm thinking of pulling it myself and driving it 150 miles to a dealer. any suggestions what may be wrong, or how to diagnosis? how do i remove the unit? any comment or help will be appreciated. did i mention i'm poor because of the gas bill for operating the thirsty thing!!
