some of you tractor fellas out there need a lesson in hydraulic system and component operation. I think that Zonie is right you may need a larger cylinder. Remember! a larger piston diameter gives more lift force. Lets do the math, a 2" bore cylinder will give 3100 pounds of force at 1000psi. a 3 inch bore cylinder will give 7000 pounds of force at 1000psi. Force of lift = pump pressure multipled by the effective area of the piston. remember too that if you are lifting with the rod end of the cylinder then you need to take the piston area and subtract the rod area to calculate force to lift. I do not recommend getting a pump that will produce more pressure in the hydraulic system. that will only wear out the hydraulics faster.
